    Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Occupational Health Nurse Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the day to day activities are carried out within WorksWell onsite Clinic while ensuring high quality care and customer service. The Occupational Health Nurse Coordinator assists with assessing, planning, facilitating the coordination of services offered to the employees of DeKalb Medical, North Decatur Campus.

     

    The Occupational Health Nurse Coordinator assists in the day to day activities of WorksWell onsite clinic as the need arises. Activities include but not limited to performing post offer assessments, annual assessments, phlebotomy services, non DOT drug screen collection within the scope of their license, certification, registration, and/or assessed competencies.  Practice will be in accordance with laws and regulations and will adhere to established policies, procedures and practice guidelines

    Responsibilities

    1. Assists staff in the delivery of services to the employees, contractors, and associates of DeKalb Medical.
    2. Ensures that clinic equipment is in working order and that supply levels are maintained appropriately.
    3. Monitors outcomes of the services provided and assists manager in the intervention of clinic and client problems and seeks resolution.
    4. Performs duties of Registered Staff Nurse as needed.
    5. Serves as a resource and assists staff in clinical role based on staffing needs.
    6. Responsible for review of new hire paper work for clearance. Consults with Manager prior to communicating clearance to Human Resources. Also provides appropriate feedback to staff regarding any follow-ups that are needed.
    7. Responsible for return to work from leave process which includes scheduling of screenings, review of appropriate paper work and providing clearance to appropriate parties.
    8. Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure coordination of clinic activities. Assumes responsibility for scheduling and giving required vaccinations to employees.
    9. Assesses personal health needs of DeKalb Medical employees based on biometric results. Coaches, educates and facilitates referral for employees with high risk conditions to appropriate resources within the health system to manage conditions and achieve targeted health outcomes.
    10. Participates in health promotion activities organized by WorksWell and other hospital departments.
    11. Participates in professional organizations and activities which promote growth and development.
    12. Participates in supporting the organization’s vision, mission and values and adheres to and exhibits DeKalb Medical Standards of Behavior.
    13. Performs other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of DeKalb Medical.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education, Experience and Licensure Required:

    • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required                                                                                                  
    • Current GA Licensure
    • BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
    • Certification of Occupational Health is desired.
    • Three to five years’ experience in Nursing: previous experience in Occupational Health or related field is desired
